The Red Tent is an excellent book, and I recommend it highly. It is also interesting to compare it to the book of Genesis in the Bible, which I have done. If you are interested in this angle, leave me a comment on one of my blogs or email me at emerging(dot)paradigm(at)yahoo(dot)com.

I've done an in-depth study of Genesis and find the stories of Jacob and his sons very interesting, but his only daughter Dinah has only a few verses and doesn't have any say in what her father and brothers decide for her. That's why this book is so important, in my opinion, because it gives voice to what might have been going on in the lives of the women.
